I managed to make a subwoofer box out of a plastic bucket from an asian grocery shop that fit into the middle of spare tyre. Top it up with mdf.

Cut out a hole at the bottom of the bucket for the spare tyre screw.
Attached a round shallow container to cover up the hole at the bottom. A butter cookie tin would do just fine.
Enforced with fibreglass and Dynamat.

Cover with carpet.
I used Kenwood 12 inch slim line subwoofer . Works really well.

Plenty of room for a subwoofer amp.
Its working so well that I have to turn to subwoofer right down to near minimum. :p

Well done! I just purchased a new SX Seltos on Friday, and already have a sub/enclosure and amp which I'll be adding. Where did you tap the speakers? I traded in a 2016 Sorento, and I tapped the door speaker wires at the base of the pillar between the front and rear doors. I'm curious if I can tap the existing sub's wires, though...? Does the factory sub have a dedicated amp somewhere? Where did you make the firewall passthrough for the sub power? So many questions....

My next project after that will be sound deadening. I've done the research, and identified the right method and products.

.....and new Blizzak's will be going on this weekend (or sooner).

Much appreciated!

I tap off the speaker wires to the original subwoofer at the side of the boot, feeding it to a Focal high low converter. Feeding power wire through the firewall is easy. I will attach a few photos soon.

I personally did not bother too much about sound deadening. Its pretty good as it is in the spare tyre well. Australian version seemed to have much better sound deadening than the models from India according to the video that I watched on youtube. I suspect the SX will the similar to Australian version.

Can you post a couple images of how you tapped into the factory wire to the sub? I just got a Seltos SX and all the high to low converters I've seen need left/right speaker taps. Since its the sub signal, can I just tap into the single pair and be good?
